Product Overview
The Betts pneumatic sliding valve is an external self-closing stop valve designed for tanker applications. It features an air-open, spring-close cylinder requiring 90 psi line pressure to fully open. The valve includes PTFE encapsulated O-rings for a positive seal in pressure or vacuum service, and standard 316 stainless steel discs for premium corrosion resistance. The adjustable packing nut with woven PTFE-infused packing allows easy stem adjustments. The air cylinder has a maximum working temperature of 250 °F (121 °C). A fusible plug set to melt above 212 °F (100 °C) is installed in the air cylinder to release air pressure in case of fire.
