This Ace heavy duty clutch features patented cryogenically treated springs and superior lead-free ceramic friction material. It includes a sealed, permanently lubricated release bearing and a patented self-locking adjuster that ensures positive adjustment without over-adjusting. During clutch disengagement, if release bearing travel is 1/2 inch or less, no adjustment is necessary. As the clutch wears, the release bearing travel increases beyond the lost motion window, advancing the worm gear which turns the adjusting ring to compensate for wear and reposition the release bearing. On clutch engagement, a one-way ratchet advances and restores the ideal lost motion window, maintaining optimal function.
