Product Overview
Gates MegaCrimp couplings are designed for use with Gates wire braid, and select spiral, hydraulic hoses to create a robust, leak-free assembly. The key to their performance is the patented, pre-assembled "C" insert, which ensures an even distribution of crimping forces for a concentric, weep-free seal. This design allows a single coupling size to accommodate various hose constructions and wall thicknesses, simplifying inventory. MegaCrimp couplings are fully qualified for SAE, EN, and ISO performance.
Features & Benefits
- To prevent leaks from cracked coupling nuts caused by over-torquing, Gates® engineered Full-Torque Nut™ technology for MegaCrimp™ and GlobalSpiral™ couplings; these are stronger, more durable, and transfer input-torque to clamp-load more consistently than traditional staked nuts.
- Features a robust 'bite-the-wire' design with a low profile, full-stem insertion, and full-length crimp, allowing for secure coupling and hose retention to create a high-performance, risk-free assembly tested to 600,000 impulse cycles.
- The unique "C" insert ensures weep-free, concentric crimping to keep equipment and the environment clean, setting a new standard for hydraulic couplings.
- Simplifies inventory requirements by allowing one coupling size to accommodate various 1 and 2-wire braid hydraulic hoses of different constructions and wall thicknesses, and is qualified on all Gates® wire-braid hoses.
