Gates MegaCrimp couplings are designed for use with Gates wire braid hydraulic hose to create a robust, leak-free assembly. The key to its performance is the patented, pre-assembled 'C' insert which allows usage with different hose constructions and wall thicknesses by ensuring an even distribution of crimping forces to form a concentric seal. This simplifies inventory since one coupling size can accommodate many different hose ODs on one- and two-wire braid hoses, and select spiral hoses. MegaCrimp couplings are fully qualified for SAE, EN, and ISO performance.

- To combat leaks from cracked coupling nuts caused by over-torquing, Gates® has engineered Full-Torque Nut™ technology, available on Gates® MegaCrimp™ and GlobalSpiral™ couplings. These full-torque nut couplings are stronger and more durable than traditional staked nuts, transferring input-torque to clamp-load more consistently to minimize leaks.
- Features a robust 'bite-the-wire' crimp design for superior coupling and hose retention, resulting in a high-performance, risk-free assembly. The unique patented 'C' insert ensures a 'weep-free' concentric, low-profile, full-stem, full-length crimp to keep equipment clean.
- Simplifies inventory management by allowing one family of couplings to be used with various 1 and 2 wire braid hydraulic hoses of different constructions and wall thicknesses, including all Gates® wire-braid hoses.
