The Chelsea 489 series power take-off (PTO) unit is designed for manual transmissions to reduce mounting time and potential leak paths. Featuring a one-piece cast iron housing that bolts directly to the 8-bolt transmission opening, it delivers the same torque capacity as the 442 series at 250 lb-ft. The PTO uses strong tapered bearings for greater load bearing capability and offers twenty-seven output options, including a popular 360° rotatable flange with a greaseable shaft to reduce pump shaft spline fretting and corrosion. With eleven internal speed ratios and shift options, the Chelsea 489 Mechanical Shift PTO fits most manual transmissions such as Eaton Endurant, Mack, and Tremec.
