The Betts pneumatic sliding valve is designed as an external self-closing stop valve without a shear section. It requires 90 psi line pressure to fully open, with an air-open and spring-close cylinder. PTFE encapsulated O-rings ensure a positive seal for pressure or vacuum service, while standard 316 stainless steel discs provide premium corrosion resistance. The adjustable packing nut with woven PTFE-infused packing allows easy stem adjustments. The air cylinder operates up to a maximum working temperature of 250 °F (121 °C). A fusible plug set to melt above 212 °F (100 °C) is installed in the air cylinder to release air pressure in case of fire.
