Product Overview

Gates MegaCrimp couplings are designed for use with Gates wire braid hydraulic hose to create a robust, leak-free assembly. The performance comes from the patented, pre-assembled "C" insert attached to the ferrule, which ensures an even distribution of crimping forces for a concentric seal. This design allows a single coupling to be used with different hose constructions and wall thicknesses (including one- and two-wire braid hoses and select spiral hoses), simplifying inventory requirements. MegaCrimp couplings are fully qualified for SAE, EN, and ISO performance.

To prevent leaks from cracked nuts or seats caused by over-torquing, Gates® engineered Full-Torque Nut™ technology for MegaCrimp™ and GlobalSpiral™ couplings; these couplings are stronger, more durable, and transfer input-torque to clamp-load more consistently than traditional staked nuts.

Features a robust 'bite-the-wire' crimp design for superior coupling and hose retention, creating a high-performance, risk-free hydraulic hose assembly; also provides a low profile, full-stem insertion, and full-length crimp tested to 600,000 impulse cycles.

The unique "C" insert sets a new standard by ensuring a "weep-free" concentric crimp, keeping equipment and the environment clean.

Simplifies inventory requirements by allowing one coupling size to accommodate various 1 and 2 wire braid hydraulic hoses of different constructions and wall thicknesses, qualified on all Gates® wire-braid hoses.

Features environmentally-friendly TuffCoat Plating for 345% better corrosion resistance than the SAE standard.
